Healing Domains
Integrative Touch for Kids™ services are based on the major types of complementary and alternative medicine described by the National Center for Complementary Medicine (NCCAM). NCCAM groups CAM practices into four (4) domains and studies whole medical systems that cut across all domains. Whole medical systems are theories and practices of medicine that have evolved over many years in Eastern and Western cultures. Examples include homeopathic medicine, naturopathic medicine, traditional Chinese medicine and Ayurveda.
The four major types/domains of complementary and alternative medicine include:
- Mind-Body Medicine
- Biologically Based Practices
- Manipulative and Body Based Practices
- Energy Therapies
