Integrative Touch for Kids™ works with children with special needs and their families to create healing experiences. We directly support children and families and collaboratively support pediatric facilities that serve children with special needs nationally and internationally. We provide programs and services, research support, training, education, information, evaluation and consultation.
Integrative Touch for Kids is committed to creating a state of the art Healing Retreat Center that will offer the best available integrative therapies from around the world in a safe and nurturing environment where children with special needs and their families can come to rest, rejuvenate and heal. Integrative Touch for Kids Special broadly defines special needs to include children with genetic conditions, developmental disabilities, chronic, acute and life limiting illnesses.
The intention is to provide families with a healing program that utilizes a "whole systems" approach that supports each family member's physical, emotional and spiritual needs alongside family dynamics and interpersonal relationships.
This philosophy is what sets Integrative Touch for Kids apart from other programs available to children.
Integrative Touch for Kids™ services are based on the major types of complementary and alternative medicine described by the National Center for Complementary Medicine (NCCAM). NCCAM groups CAM practices into four (4) domains and studies whole medical systems that cut across all domains. Whole medical systems are theories and practices of medicine that have evolved over many years in Eastern and Western cultures. Examples include homeopathic medicine, naturopathic medicine, traditional Chinese medicine and Ayurveda.
Integrative Touch for Kids™ is dedicated to modeling and contributing to an experience of integrative healing for children, families, and the health care community.
Our underlying philosophy is to attune to a bio-psycho-social-spiritual model of care that embraces holistic healing and compassionate practice.

Did you know?
Complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) use is higher in children with special healthcare needs than in the general pediatric population. Some of the most commonly used practices include prayer, massage, and specialty vitamins/supplements. Parents who use CAM for themselves are more likely to access CAM for their child.
